The show

From writer-producer Rand Ravich (The Astronaut's Wife), comes Life, a new drama about a cop who is given a second chance.

The series stars Damian Lewis (Band of Brothers) as Detective Charlie Crews, a man framed for a crime he didn't commit. Wrongfully imprisoned for 12 years, he's finally freed after friend and attorney Constance Griffiths (Brooke Langton, Friday Night Lights) presents new DNA evidence that proves his innocence.

Presented with a handsome settlement, he decides to return to the force to solve the murders that put him behind bars. Partnered with the skeptical and demanding Dani Reese (Sarah Shahi, The L Word), Crews goes about his business of interpreting clues and interrogating suspects in a Zen-like state of calm.

"When I was thinking about a pilot, I really wanted to start with the character," explains Ravich. "I found this character of Charlie Crews, a man who had been falsely accused and who has spent 12 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. But instead of it breaking him and instead of it being dark and dour and depressing, it made him very aware of how precious life is."

"Life doesn't squander the talents of its cast. The mysteries are solid, the characters multilayered, and Crews is given a bigger mystery about which to obsess - finding out who framed him." - David Bianculli, New York Daily News
