Brooke Burns (Jessica "Jessie" Owens)
Brooke Burns is best known for her role as Jennifer, the fantasy girl on the TV series
Ally McBeal. On
Baywatch Hawaii she plays Jessica "Jessie" Owens, an aspiring Hollywood stuntwoman.
As a teenager, Burns was studying to become a professional ballet dancer, but after a ski accident she took up modelling, and has since been featured in US and European fashion magazines and television ads for Mug Root Beer, Matrix and Carrows Restaurants. Burns also starred on the syndicated series
Out of the Blue.
When she first auditioned for
Baywatch, she didn't get the part. But she apparently made such an impression, producers subsequently called her in to audition for the role of Jessie.
Simmone Mackinnon (Allie Reese)
Australian actress Simmone has come into the international spotlight for her role in
Baywatch Hawaii.
She is a noted set and stage actress in her late twenties. Her first major work was
Dating the Enemy, a romantic comedy from Australia. She has also worked in theatre settings like the acclaimed musical
Cats from 1993-1995. She stayed with it and eventually got the lead role as Cassandra in the musical. She is very active in dance and singing.
She recently guest-starred on the syndicated TV show
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World.
Jason Momoa (Jason Ioane)
19-year-old Jason Momoa plays Jason Ioane, the youngest member in the
Baywatch Hawaii team. Although raised by his German-Irish mother in Norwalk, Iowa, Jason's father is Hawaiian. This 6-foot-4, 210-pound actor accidentally fell into modelling after returning to enroll at the University of Hawaii.
He has worked for international designers like Takeo and Eric Eugene Chandler, and won the 1999 Hawaii's
Model of the Year. He also hosted the
1999 Miss Teen Hawaii USA contest.
When not on the set of
Baywatch Hawaii, Jason can be found supporting many charities and community groups. He promotes hunger awareness by working for the Hawaii Food Bank campaign and speaks to students at various schools.
Kala'i Miller (Kai)
26-year-old Kala'i Miller plays Kai, one of the most recent members of
Baywatch.
A native of Hawaii, Kala'i was once a Honolulu fireman.
His present role on
Baywatch Hawaii has made him a hero for the other firemen at the Kakaako station where he worked for three years. He appeared in the 1996
Men of Hawaii and 1998
HFD Firefox calendars, as well as on the cover of
magazine. His love for water sports has translated into his present role.
He loves jet skiing, surfing, paddling, canoe sailing and free-diving, all requisite skills for any good lifeguard!
