Nelle Porter (Portia de Rossi)
Nelle Porter (Portia de Rossi) nicknamed "Sub-zero", faces mixed reactions on joining the law firm. While John Cage immediately falls for her good looks, Ally, Georgia and Elaine decide that they hate her right from the start. She, however, likes all of them. She is a beauty with brains and soon proves to be a great lawyer.
On the outside, Nelle may come across as cold, but delve a little deeper and you discover that she is very caring and warm. In fact, her cold self is only her defence, to protect herself from the outside world, for unlike Ally, she is not prepared to be open with everybody around her, or letting emotions guide her. She finds it difficult to trust people.
The perfect combination of ice-queen, sweetness and sexiness, Nelle is easily anybody's favourite character.
Ling Woo (Lucy Liu)
Everyone thinks her vicious and her entry is characteristically accompanied by the "Wicked Witch of the West" theme. Firmly believing that "this is an office place, people shouldn't be happy", Ling Woo (Lucy Liu) has made Cage & Fish a more exciting, unpredictable, though hostile environment. She is anything but boring.
She was first brought on the show as a client who loved to sue and she made sure she sued everyone and everything, from the environment to her employee for having sexual thoughts about her! She isn't afraid to speak her mind and be brutally honest, often completely insensitive to the feelings of others. She is also the talented character on the show: she designs clothing, owns a plant, a mud-wrestling club, and an escort service.
Like all the characters on this show, her character also develops and changes. She slowly moves away from the evil witch that she portrayed when she first arrived. On the surface, she may be vicious and malicious, but deep down, she has a good heart. She is a paradox.
Renée Radick (Lisa Nicole Carson)
Renée Radick (Lisa Nicole Carson) is Ally's flatmate. She is a public defence attorney.
During the first two seasons, she was mostly a background character who popped up in court from time to time, and talked to Ally about her love life.
However, in season three, she came to the forefront and started her own firm with Whipper. Renee is a true friend to Ally, and is always looking out for her. However, much to Ally's dismay, most of the time, Renee's actions are in conflict with Ally's desires.
Glenn Foy (James Marsden)
Glenn Foy is the new hot-shot lawyer hired by Cage & Fish Associates. He has heart throb good looks and a razor sharp mind.
He also happens to be the ex-boyfriend of Jenny, Ally's new protegee. Infact, he used to work with the same firm as Jenny, till she was sacked.
There seems to be a romance potential between Ally and Glenn, but, Jenny has also never really got over him.
Glenn's best friend and ex-associate is Ray, who also seems to strike off sparks with Ally.
Raymond Milbury (Josh Hopkins)
Ally meets Raymond in the courtroom when she is representing Jenny in a suit against her old law firm. Raymond is representing Jenny's ex-boss and he is also a friend of Glenn, a new associate at Cage & Fish.
Ally finds Raymond smarmy and pompous, even thoguh she is attracted to him. He, in turn, makes no attempts to hide his interest in Ally.
Elaine may be his best shot at finding happiness.
